Manufacturers should Capitalize on international opportunities by accessing global markets
Often Manufacturers, distributors and importers who wish to begin selling their electrical and electronic products to the international market face many hurdles in managing compliance with the established technical regulations within each global market. In the absence of harmonized standards and requirements as well as countries having different national standards, manufacturers must research and familiarize themselves of each regulations within each country they want to access. Some countries and regions have specific technical restrictions such as:
product testing
certification and
shipment inspection requirements
In addition, the often confusing regulatory framework in many countries is constantly being updated and expanded.
Global Market Access (GMA) is the process of reviewing and identifying the applicable regulations and managing product compliance to those sets of standards with accessing global markets.
WHY is GMA important for your business?
Bringing electrical, electronic and wireless products to market in different countries is downright difficult. Products that are non-compliant to specific country requirements must be redesigned to comply with the individual country standards resulting in delays and loss of revenue. Customs officials may impound or deny access to non-compliant products, exposing manufacturers to potential legal consequences, or worse, requiring all non-approved products to be removed from the country in which it is non-compliant.
UM will be an extension of your regulatory team for Global Market Access (GMA). Our team will provide guidance on the country specific requirements while creating a strategy for your list of countries you wish to access. We also can perform product pre-testing to the country specific standards to check for failures. This will allow your teams to make any changes to ensure the product complies prior to the formal testing initiation. This will help you save time by not being surprised with unexpected failures during the testing process. Wesolve also can provide “in-country “representative services for clients with no presence in the respective countries. UM will also prepare applications on your behalf, perform a post-submission follow-up with the authorities/ certification bodies, conduct training for your staff on technical standards used for implementation of regulations, and update you on the latest regulatory changes.
Tailored solutions – Based on research of regulatory requirements, certification requisites and schemes for your product within your target country lists.
Interface with regulators – Interface with governmental organizations and certification bodies on behalf of clients lacking local representation. UM often works with manufacturers where their products may not fit into the defined technical regulations. We take the concerns to the regulatory body and explain the case for approval based on the lack of standards. Our amazing relationships with the key regulators allow us the ability to discuss problems and help get the outcomes the manufacturer is looking for.
Testing – UM coordinates all product testing for a single or family of products in accordance with required test standards for each country that requires testing within their country
Gain a competitive edge– with UM’s expertise and knowledge we can provide research to support the best decision-making process for our clients.
Global knowledge database – We have an internal Regulatory database for different products and countries, including national requirements, policies and technical regulations.
